A Walk in the Park

I know I haven't been blogging much lately but when you see these pictures you would know why it is so good to be outside instead of sitting in front of the computer.. okay, okay that's a lame excuse but true to my words, I am posting some beautiful pictures of my walk in the park, just across our street.
I love autumn but only when it's sunny and warm but not cold, wet and gray.
Take for example this pile of autumn leaves, aren't they so pretty just being what they are? It's as if each leaf has its own pattern, more like a snowflake, I didn't find any similar leaves at all. I love autumn colours, it's so beautiful, a mixture of orange, yellow, red, green and brown and you have a thousand variations.I'm sure you will agree with me that walking along these trees can be so relaxing and inspiring. I don't really know, I couldn't believe my eyes that I live just across this park and what a beauty it is, what's also nice is I felt that the park belong to me alone. It was a pity to not see people around this area. Although I think these ducks or are they geese actually? Yes, I think they are geese were really enjoying the quiet moment, just the family and them. I wonder if they can make it on time to their trip to the south? Isn't it a bit too late to have babies in autumn? Hmmm

Well I thought I was all alone in the park except for the ducks, birds, geese and squirels... I was wrong, as soon as I turned towards these trees. Guess what they were doing? Well I really didn't know so I walked in closely and found out what the commotion was about. Chestnuts!!! The eatable ones. That's why there was this group of people and so much more. Well they are after all free and chestnuts are not cheap this part of the country. So there you go, I think I should go there one of these days again and go a bit early than usual. Since I just live across I can even be the first one on a windy day. That would mean a lot of harvest. The shells of the chestnut is really very prickly and thorny, you can get hurt when you touch it. Ouch! You get two pieces of chestnut in one shell, they are together like how a peanut is attached to half a nut. Because there were so many there hunting for nuts, I only found this one. People just hit the fruit or burr (thanks wiki) and then the nuts come out - believe me you wouldn't want to bring home such a spiny, dangerous thing in your bag/pockets. A lot of them just fall around the tree and just open up. Hmmm yummy chestnuts. i love them :) So don't you agree that is worth taking a walk and getting away from your computers? I guess so. Anyway, I'm glad that I can showyou my park, technically not mine but let's just say my park. Hmmm maybe I can even do such a series of posts - Toni's Park

I love autumn too. I love how all the colors come together. Since it's a three-day weekend here, I'm taking my Mom to the lake to take some photos. It should be nice. Our weekend forecasts is in the 70s to 75s, so it should be perfect. Thank you for sharing the photos.
