Christmas is just around the corner and before we know 2011 is here in front of us. This coming Sunday marks the first Advent and it has been my tradition almost every year to make my own Advent wreath. My late dear cat
Baghira used to sit beside me on those many times I have made my wreath and today I suddenly missed the dear old cat.
As always you need some fresh evergreens - I normally use fir because I find spruce really difficult to use..a bit thorny and quite hard to bend.
I've been using the same straw wreath base every year ;) .. actually I almost use the same decors alternating just a few items on it..
I decided to use cream candles this year and I even thought next year to use maybe something funky like purple or pink - who knows...
Nevertheless this is my 2010's Advent wreath.. I wanted to make it really simple and I think I managed just that. I love the combination of red, white and a bit of gold on it.

The result is lovely ! I'll do it today. I have all decorations packed in an old suitcase we don't use anymore and I have to look through if I need to buy something. Anyway we will spend Christmas in Amsterdam, so I won't do too much.
Why don't you get another little kitten ? A home without cat is not a home (says somebody, lol )
i like it :). i'm going for the Christmas tree this weekend and some lights. i love this time of year.
