My Number 1 Fan

Although my career as a famous acoustic singer hasn't started yet, I already have a loyal groupie of my own. Otherwise we can also be street musicians like this fellow here (master not shown except for his guitar case - ). Anyway, this guy made a lot of money that day I 'm sure. I forgot to write an entry about the famous punch evening at work. I didn't drink any of the alcohol and was smart enough to go home early (10:30 pm - it lasted till 12 midnight) I had a bad conscience though because I left my boss there alone. Hmm nothing funny happened because it turned out I have all the funny stories. People were entertained with my anecdotes about my driving, Well I hope this grants me a parking spot every morning if that would be the case.

The Week

I finally started my guitar lessons and learning to read the notes at the moment. I think I learned to read it some time in elementary school but forgot it. Oh well! There goes my fleeting memory. Vlado bought a classic guitar for me on Ebay. This guy is truly a real Ebayer. I should write a post about his conquests and secrets in winning in the auction.
Aside from that our weekend was not so extraordinary. I rested the whole Saturday at home
because I was so tired from our Lantern Festival in Kindergarden. This is a german tradition called St. Martin's Lantern Festival who apparently long long time ago was a wealthy soldier and became a saint because he shared his fortune with the poor people. On St. Martin's day (or night) the children have a procession with their handmade lanterns like shown in this picture. Our theme is autumn animals, that's why we have squirrels and hedgehogs.
On Sunday we went to watch a musical at the English Theatre and we came in 15 minutes late because I thought it will start at 6:30 pm and we would meet our friend 15 minutes before the show. Well thinking we were, as always on time and punctual, I was so shocked to see the Foyer empty when we arrived. Good thing that the staff were really nice and allowed us to go to the balcony. What a relief! The first few minutes of the show was just so puzzling because we of course missed 15 minutes of it.
What I am really not so looking forward to this week at work is ta ran the Punch Evening with parents on Thursday evening. This means we
drink alcohol or the so called "punch" (rum, sugar, fruits and i don't know what else is in there) with parents and that's it. A form of socializing but it seems nowadays socializing always include alcohol. Last year it lasted till 12 midnight on a week day. Vlado was so surprised he asked me, if the parents are working. Of course they do, how can they afford to pay for the babysitter. I hope something funny or unusual would happen so I can blog about it ( I could probaby grow roots just by being there - hope to sit beside a nice parent).

Colors of Autumn

Just want to capture the autumn before it gets to be real dreary, wet, gray and cold. Enjoy the colors of autumn.

Learning a new skill

I guess you can exactly guess what I am up to in the next few days or weeks. This is not exactly the guitar I have but Iam just lazy to take a picture of it and besides it is not yet confirmed if I will use the other guitar we have (Vlado bought one long time ago, he planned to learn how to play guitar, guess what happened to it?? ) V's guitar has steel strings and my future teacher said it is better to start with nylon strings. I plan (planning is a bit weak, like plan to lose 10 lbs next week, next month, next year, next century maybe!) or should I say I aim to learn how to play this music instrument here. Aim sounds more convincing and determined - like I aim to contribute to world peace - hey does not fighting with your neighbor lead to world peace???!! I aim to minimize my waste and garbage in this world - i buy more reusable bottles and recycle my waste into plastic, paper, biodegradable and my bottles to green, brown and colorless, old clothes, old furnitures and whatchamacallit. Actually these are all Germany's normal way of throwing its garbage but some don't follow it so I have extra points there. Here I posted a picture of my calendar all about the schedule for the garbage collection. The bottle thing is done separately as well as the clothes and the whatchamacallit all kinds of stuff that you can think of but not mentioned (phew this thing about the garbage is changing the content of my post - I have to change my title) .

Anyway aside from learning to play the guitar V (starting today I wil address him this way) is also urging me to ride this bike. Unfortunately, although we live very near the forest with a good bike path, I don't have the skill for it. When I was young we didn't have bicycles and we often go to the nearby Burnham Park in Baguio to rent them. Because my sisters were often with me and we didn't have enough money to rent 3 bicycles, we would get the three wheeled bike and they would sit at the back and I would start to pedal like crazy. The girls wouldn't stop shouting "faster, faster!" and gigled and shrieked for joy. Those were the days. Anyway, I am not yet ready to learn this other skill. I need to develop my driving skills first, drive new routes, park parallel and drive in the autobahn. Whew, that would be a lot of skills to learn..

3 hours in U.S.A.

Yup I was 3 hours in the U.S.A., had lunch at Taco Bell, drank rootbeer and went grocery shopping. Look what I bought? Lots and lots of junk food which I used to love eating in the Philippines (because we were used to be a colony of Uncle Sam, he dumped up some of his goods so they can extend their market).Well nevertheless, I was able to find some really cheap medicines (100 pcs ibuprofen costs about 2.50 euros whereas you can buy only 10 pcs of that in the local drug store - so i bought like 3 bottles each with 100 pcs good till 2008, who knows if I will end up there again), some vitamins, notebooks (lined at that because our notebooks here look more like graphing paper),vaseline my favorite lotion and lots and lots of other stuff. It is so cheap there I ended up buying more than I really need because it is so darn unbelievable cheap (compared to the local german products). Ok, the german cold cuts tastes better, the chocolates too so that can be one reason...(but i didn't buy much of those stuff just crunch my favorite chocolate because of the puffed rice). One of the highlights of my shopping spree - I bought mint chocolate ice cream, my favorite (can't buy that flavor here ). Well I couldn't have been in the states right? Yup, just went in a commissary in a U.S. militaty installation with an american working for the U.S. government. That's why! It's a mini america there, they even tank their cars in gallons in US prices, have their own fastfood like Taco Bell or Popeye's. So you see, I was (almost) in the U.S.

Weekend chores

I am just waiting for our guests to arrive while writing this post. Saturday is almost over and Vlado and I spent it just cleaning and organizing here at home. I don't know if the food I prepared is tasty enough. The fish dish was really salty so I have to throw the sauce and the dessert (sort of a mango cream pie) is still soft. The pumpkin soup I made was at first also not so good as I imagined it to be, so have to make some more adjustments. This is probably not my day of cooking. Vlado said if the cake doesn't look good till desert, we would just serve ice cream (hmmm although it is already cold outside). Oh well. (sigh...) I really am tired this week! Oh and I almost broke the television while vacuuming the floor. The television just fell flat on the floor with the screen facing down. Well too bad it wasn't broken. That way I won't see much television and blog more.

Are You More Cat or Dog?

You Are: 30% Dog, 70% Cat

You and cats have a lot in common.
You're both smart and in charge - with a good amount of attitude.
However, you do have a very playful side that occasionally comes out!

This just proves that I really have the right pet.
